Giorgio Pagano denounces to the Editor of NYT the lies Mr. Azzone said to the International Herald Tribune.

The Secretary of Esperanto Radical Association writes to the Editor of The New York Times.

The 11st of June the Rector Azzone, interviewed by D. D. Guttenplan of the International Herald Tribune, stated, about the secessionist choice from the Italian language in favour of the English language by the Politecnico of Milan, that “No one, not even our critics, disputes that this change will be good for our studens.”
“Nothing could be more false” commented the Secretary of Esperanto Radical Association, an organization that has been struggling for the linguage right throughout the world for 25 years, in his letter to the Editor of The New York Times company and to the journalist of IHT
“People has to know, on the contrary, that 285 professors and researchers signed a public Appeal by which they claim to be contrary to such dictation, that aims to destroy the teaching and learning freedom in Italy through the medium of Italian language and the italian scientific culture, reducing Italy to a mere geographic entity without a people with his own language, discriminating linguistically professors and students.”
“Unfortunately – concluded Mr. Pagano adding the 285 professors’ Appeal – while I am sure that you will give information about my letter, since the tradition of free information in free countries as USA, I’m as much sure that, while for such lies a Rector of a University of yours would be forced to resign, Mr. Azzone, in this Italy full of people without personality, in the home of the Right without rights, will remain at his place.”
