CILS CERTIFICATION CONSIDERING THE CEFR

The system CILS covers all six levels of linguistic and communicative competence identified by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Each CILS level is autonomous and complete: the certification of each level represents a degree of communication skills appropriate to specific social, professional, study.

BASIC LEARNER

The level CILS A1 is for learners with initial skills in Italian language at this stage the learning process is strongly influenced by internal and external factors such as age, context, motivation. For this reason certifications for different audiences have been developed.

 

A2

The level CILS A2 certifies initial competences, in process of formation, not entirely independent considering communication point of view. They understand sentences and frequently used expressions in areas of most immediate relevance. You can communicate in simple exchanges on familiar and routine matters.

It is intended for people with initial skills in Italian language at this stage the learning process is strongly influenced by internal and external factors such as age, context, motivation. For this reason, several models have been developed for different people who come to the study of the Italian language. These modules have a structure and a format similar, but they have different communicative contexts, genres and text. For linguistic and communicative competence candidates must be able to manage contexts and communicative interaction on the form corresponding to its own characteristics.

INDIPENDENT LEARNER

 

B1

CILS UNO – B1

 

The level CILS UNO-B1 certifies the competence profile of the independent learner. It checks communication skills necessary to use the Italian language autonomously and in an appropriate manner in the most frequent situations of everyday life. It’s important to communicate in Italian in everyday situations both written and oral, to understand the main points of clear, read the texts most common and useful.

 

B2

CILS DUE – B2

CILS – EC

The level CILS DUE-B2 attests full range of communicative competence in Italian as a foreign language. The candidate at this level is able to communicate effectively during a stay in Italy for study and a systematic contact with the Italian companies for working reasons.

COMPETENT LEARNER

 

C1

CILS TRE – C1

The level CILS TRE-C1 is the level of mastery in the competence of Italian as a foreign language. It allows to communicate not only in typical situations of everyday life, but also in formal relationships for social, academic and professional reasons.

 

C2

CILS QUATTRO – C2

 

The level CILS QUATTRO-C2 is the the level CILS TRE-C1 and the actual ability of candidate to master a wide range of communicative situations, all an informal and formal communication, as well as professional ones. The candidate must demonstrate an excellent command of the Italian language, although not completely comparable to that of a native speaker.

 

 

CILS – DIT C2

cils-dit/c2 certification is for candidates who want to demonstrate competence in Italian l2 expendable in the context of teaching in schools and institutions. This can be taken only at the University for foreign people of Siena.
