Bennato, Nava and Zanicchi also on the Jury for the anti-prize "Italian as the Doormat of the English Language"

A number public figures will speak at the first edition of "Italian as the Doormat of the English Language," which will take place on May 13th, at 15.00 in the Chamber of Deputies conference hall, promoted by "Esperanto" Radical Association department, Centopercentoitaliano.it , in favour of linguistic democracy. Among the participants, well-known names of the Italian artistic movement will be present: The singer, Eugenio Bennato, Mariella Nava and Iva Zanicchi. Not to go unnoticed is the presence of the important members of cultural society that will be there, such as the linguist Giovanni Agresti, literary critic Massimo Arcangeli, the author Mihai Mircea Butcovan, Michele Gazzola, researcher of Linguistic Economy, Claudio Giovanardi, Professor of Italian Linguistics, and the children’s teacher Nicola Siciliani de Cumis, the directors Filippo Soldi e Corrado Veneziano. Their job will be to evaluate the reasons for awarding the prize to The Worst Italian of 2009. Their participation draws necessary attention to action that needs to be taken to promote, safeguard the Italian patrimony from the English colonization.
